What is most exciting to you about marketing research?
Market research, to me, is a very interesting science. I have always had a strong inclination to learn the underlying motivations behind a person’s reaction towards the prevailing and anticipatory trends in the market. I love the fact that my job is so data driven and every day is a new learning experience for me which I feel is the most exciting outcome of being in this field.

What is your role and what do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Responsible for Finance and HR at element54. Has a knack for spotting a number that’s out of place, and bringing out the best in people. Master baker and chef. Pilates, Tennis, Biking, Skiing and happiest when moving forward.

What do you like most about marketing research?
Investigating consumer behaviour and brainstorming the approaches to do so. The fun and engaging interactions with our clients, partners, and team. Alternate careers would have all involved some type of deductive reasoning and delving into the human psyche. Dr. House M.D. and Sherlock Holmes are fictional characters that exemplify my desire to solve for the unknown but not in how they managed interpersonal relationships!

What brought you to marketing research?
I always liked reading mystery books and watching TV mystery shows. And suddenly I started working in marketing research… and I saw the similarities. In marketing research as in mystery solving, you need to create hypotheses, you need to do research and find the clues that will give you your answers. So if I had to choose what I like most about marketing research, it is the process of setting hypotheses because this is what makes you a good detective!

My favourite thing about marketing research is spending time immersed in and learning about different products, brands and industries and then changing it up to something completely different the next week.

What brought you to marketing research?
I was in Grade 10 when I had filled my first survey, a senior at school was researching the genre of novels most preferred by students. I instantly fell in love with the process of interviewing people and understanding their likes/dislikes on different topics. Ever since that day, working with surveys to tap into consumers’ behaviour and aspirations has been the most appealing aspect of Market Research to me.

Originally from Texas, Churro travelled over two thousands kilometres to join us in Toronto in August 2018. Upon experiencing his first winter in Canada, sometimes he doubts whether he was really “rescued.”

Australian Labradoodle originally from just outside Seattle. Career started as an American Apparel Puppy model before moving to Montreal at the age of 3 months. Loves long walks, Bon Jovi, anything with flour and tummy rubs. Favourite time of day: meal time. Pet peeve: skate boarders.
